李典常博士是台大地質系校友(1961-65)，過去在加州大學河濱分校地球科學系任教(1974-2009)。
這回地質系演講的主題是關於他所蒐集的岩石與礦物的故事，
內容源自於他即將出版的書- A Mother Bear’s Journey to Rock Country

The talk will be based on Dr. Tien-Chang Lee's book-writing in progress, entitled ‘A Mother Bear’s Journey to Rock Country’.  Essentially it is a set of stories about his rock collections – as the subtitle says, one stone one story.  The book aims for rock enthusiastic and aspiring geologists as well as general public. 
Both undergraduate and graduate students are strongly encouraged to attend and see what observation of a specimen without instrumental analysis can tell you about the stone’s evolution.
